Alternative Easter Gifts

Easter is the perfect time to get together for a meal with family and let the kids have some fun doing egg hunts, however we are always conscious of the need to have balance when it comes to ours and the kids diet so for those who have larger families Easter can mean an overload of chocolate. Many people now choose to give alternative gifts at Easter.

An experience/ day out with the family can be a great alternative as it gives the kids something to remember, one of our favourite places is Sundown Adventure park, a theme park just for under 10's, my two love it here and we have visited on a few occasions when in the area and it is just as magical and fun for us as parents as it is for the children, the fact it is just for under 10's means the little ones can explore without risk of being pushed or knocked over by stampeding teenagers!

If you want to gift an adult or are having a family get together how about a bottle of something nice like Barefoot Bubbly, as a fan of Barefoot i was not disappointed when i tried this, it was really fruity and light so would go with with any kind of family meal whether that be barbeque, takeaway or a full roast dinner. Bright and fruity, the core-fruited Barefoot Pinot Grigio Bubbly is quite a good sparkling wine. Barefoot Bubbly Pinot Grigio is one of the only Pinot Grigio sparkling wines from California. Light-bodied and refreshing, our Bubbly Pinot Grigio bubbles over with citrus flavours and orange blossom aromas. RRP £8.99

If you are looking for a few suggestions for alternative kids gifts then i have a few

How about some new wellies? Because lets face it Summer looks a long way off!! We absolutely adore these cute Lopsy rabbit ones from the chipmunks children's range. They are £18 and have handy pull on handles each side and are fleece lined to keep little feet warm and dry while out on their egg hunt.

If you really want to stick with egg theme then how about these Easter eraser sets from smiggle, each egg box contains six coloured eggs containing a fun and quirky scented eraser. PLUS Smiggle has hidden 10 lucky golden eggs inside the cartons across the UK! If you’re lucky enough to find one you're in for the ultimate treat – a £150 shopping spree in a Smiggle store of your choice! I completely adore these personalised books from Its your story, they make a fab gift that can be kept and looked over time and time again, with so many different options and stories to choose from there is something to suit every personality and interest, these make a wonderful keepsake gift for Easter that you sit and read with your little one night after night. We love to snuggle up and read a book together and a personalised book makes the story that little bit more magical

If predictions are right and it seems likely it will be we will be in for a cold possibly wet/ white Easter then how about something to keep the little ones busy indoors. Games and Jigsaws are a great way to bring families together, if you have a shimmer and shine fan then this how about this 104 piece glitter jigsaw, it is bright and colourful, featuring your child's favourite characters and really well made so will withstand hours of putting together over and over again.

Some fun for the whole family? Then how about this Retro gaming Mat from Find me a gift. it simply plugs into your TV and the mains and you are good to go, it includes 200 Retro games that are all controlled from the mat, so simply jump on and away you go, hours of fun and flash backs to the days before HD graphics, show the kids what fun we used to have! This gave us hours of fun and laughter as well as a workout using the mat as a controller, the kids loved the appeal of something different and 'Retro' and it was so easy to set up and use, something the whole family could join in with.

So there we have a few suggestions for some alternative gifts or ideas to entertain and keep the whole family happy, have a lovely Easter whatever you do.
