Move with Peppa
Move with Peppa is a fun, physical activity programme for children aged 18 months to five years. Being a confident mover is as important as numeracy and literacy - not only do toddlers need to be active for 180 minutes every day, they also need to learn a variety of physical skills and develop movement confidence. And what better character than Peppa Pig to inspire our younger generations to be active? They encourage parents/carers to join in jumping in muddy puddles and other Peppa activities.

Active Families
Parents and carers have a vital role to play in engaging their children in lifelong physical activity. The Active Families programme is designed to introduce and develop awareness of the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle in a fun, challenging and practical manner. We use physical activity as the driving force to enhance self-esteem and confidence while increasing participation trends.

For 2017, Big Family Festival, in collaboration with the Bounce Alzheimer's Therapy (The BAT Foundation) and the Call To Mind. Design Company, is launching a major 'Dementia Friendly Communities' Initiative for the West Midlands.
BAT & Call to Mind are promoting Table Tennis across the U.K. as a proven & very effective therapy for dementia. One that is drug free, carer inclusive and which can delay early symptom onset and reduce cognitive decline.
Working with neuroscientists at the University of Stirling, Kings College London and University College London, BAT & Call to Mind have developed a range of specialist Table Tennis equipment, specifically designed to compensate for the deprivations experienced by those living with the Alzheimer's condition and to significantly enhance the therapeutic experience.
Bat & Call to Mind will have their innovative and revolutionary tables on site at the Festival for visitors to try out, with professional coaches from Table Tennis England on hand to give playing tips.

In addition, there will be a 'Nomination Point' at the Festival, where families can propose local Care Homes to be potential recipients of donated Therapy tables. And for nearby schools and colleges to be gifted with customised tables, and enrolled in a programme- in association with Sport England and the Youth Sport Trust-where pupils and students can volunteer to play Table Tennis at the selected Care Homes with the residents.
